Lusail at a glance
Lusail is the part of the Doha area you reach on the Red Line of the metro. Three places make up most visits: Lusail Boulevard in Downtown Lusail, the shopping centre Place Vendôme with its water fountains, and Lusail Stadium. A fourth reason to come is the Marina District, where the Fairmont Doha stands.
Plan Lusail as a separate outing from older parts of Doha such as Souq Waqif and Msheireb. A half day is enough for the boulevard and the mall, and the late afternoon and evening suit the fountain shows.

Place Vendôme: two sets of hours
The operator and Visit Qatar give different times. Both are shown here, so check the day you go.
| Source | Opening hours | Fountains |
|---|---|---|
| Operator website | 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. | Hourly, 1 to 11 p.m. |
| Visit Qatar | Sunday to Wednesday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Thursday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. | Hourly, 7 to 11 p.m. |
Both versions agree on the evening, with hourly fountain shows between 7 and 11 p.m. If you want the fountains, arrive before 7 p.m. The start and the weekend closing time are not the same in the two sources, and shows are not guaranteed on every day.

Getting to Lusail
By metro, with a tram change for parts of the district.
Red Line
The Red Line runs to Lusail and also serves the airport and the coast. Visit Qatar names connections to the tram network at Legtaifiya and Lusail. Check the current network map for the tram route you need.
Metro and getting around →The stadium
Visit Qatar gives about 15 minutes on foot from Lusail QNB station on the Red Line to Lusail Stadium. In summer, plan for the heat on this walk.
Weather and best time →Fridays
The metro starts at 9 a.m. on Fridays and the tram at 2 p.m. (Qatar Rail pocket map, printed January 2025). A morning visit on a Friday needs another way to get there, such as a taxi.
Fares and hours →From the airport
Hamad International Airport is on the Red Line, so Lusail can be reached by metro in one line, subject to the current timetable.
Airport guide →Lusail Boulevard and Downtown Lusail
The boulevard is the main street space of Downtown Lusail, and the Lusail Plaza Towers are visible from it. It is an area for walking and looking at the buildings. Opening times differ for individual shops and restaurants, so check them locally.
This site is not affiliated with the boulevard or its operator. Check current access and parking arrangements before you drive.
Lusail Stadium
The stadium can be reached on foot from Lusail QNB station on the Red Line. Visit Qatar gives 80,000 seats on the stadium page and 86,000 in the Lusail overview, so neither number should be taken as an exact current capacity.
Check what is open to visitors before you go. If you want a museum about sport, the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is at Khalifa International Stadium, not at Lusail Stadium. It is reached on the Gold Line to Sport City, and the entry price in one 2026 listing is QAR 50.
A half day in Lusail
One way to order the stops, using the hours above.
Early afternoon: the stadium
Take the Red Line to Lusail QNB and walk about 15 minutes. In the heat of the day, keep the walk short and carry water.
Late afternoon: the boulevard
Walk Lusail Boulevard in Downtown Lusail and look at the Lusail Plaza Towers. Shops and restaurants keep their own hours.
Evening: Place Vendôme
Arrive before 7 p.m. for the hourly fountain shows, which both sources place between 7 and 11 p.m. Plan your way back with the metro hours in mind.
Metro hours →Where to stay and what else to see
Lusail is a marina location, not an old town.
