How Doha tours differ
Doha is compact, and most tours fall into four groups: a city tour by car, a boat trip on a dhow, a trip into the desert and a museum visit. They differ in length, in the meeting point and in what the price covers. A city tour takes about 4 hours. A dhow cruise takes 2 hours. The desert trip is the only one that needs a 4x4 and a long drive.
The examples below are single offers from one operator. They show what one product costs, not a market range. Listed prices are starting prices as displayed in 2026. They are not the final price for every date, and a published offer does not show free places on your day.

The tour types in detail
What each one involves.
City tours
A city tour runs about 4 hours and is sold as a guided trip by car. The Metro costs at most QAR 6 a day, so you can also see many sights on your own. A tour saves planning time and gives you a guide.
Getting around โTransit tours
The transit tour lasts 3 hours and the listed minimum layover is 6 hours. Read the layover rules in our stopover guide before you commit.
Stopover guide โDhow cruises
The listed cruise starts and ends at The Pearl and passes Katara, West Bay, the Corniche and the Mina District. It is not sold as a departure from the Corniche. The operator asks guests to board and leave the boat without help and calls the cruise unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Corniche guide โDesert and Inland Sea
The Inland Sea is about 80 km from Doha and takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by 4x4 on desert tracks. On the private trip, the road part to Sealine takes about 45 to 60 minutes. The operator excludes pregnant guests, children under 6 and guests with heart problems or back and neck complaints. Child seats are not allowed.
Desert safari guide โMuseum tickets and the pass
Museum prices differ, so do not assume one price for all. The One Pass lists the Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum of Qatar, the Sports Museum and Mathaf, but access to Mathaf is described in conflicting ways. Three museums are certain; check Mathaf separately.
Museum of Islamic Art โWhat to check before you book
The wording differs more than the prices do.
Date, product and meeting point
The same operator can list several products with different start points. Check that the date, the product and the place match.
What the price covers
Starting prices rarely include meals, a guide at a museum or a private upgrade. Child prices, extra service fees and cancellation terms are not shown for the offers above, so read them at checkout.
Special museum days
The Museum of Islamic Art is closed to the public on Sunday 25 October 2026. The National Museum of Qatar closes early that day, at 3 p.m., with the last gallery entry at 2:15 p.m. Some galleries at the National Museum may be closed for improvements.
National Museum guide โClothing and conduct
Men and women should keep shoulders and knees covered in public places, including museums and the market.
Heat and season
Summer brings heat and high humidity near the coast. Visit Qatar lists October to May as the general season for outdoor activities. The weather guide has monthly temperatures.
Weather and best time โTravel advice
Germany's Federal Foreign Office advised against travel to Qatar on 20 October 2026, and Austria lists security level 3. Read your own government's advice and check your flight before you pay for a tour.
Doha tours: frequently asked questions
How much does a Doha city tour cost?
One 4-hour city tour is listed from QAR 146 per person in 2026 (about $40). The transit version for layovers is listed at QAR 115 (about $32). Both are single offers, so other operators may differ.
Is a dhow cruise worth booking?
It is a 2-hour trip at QAR 150 (about $41) that passes the skyline from the water. It leaves from The Pearl. If you want to be on the water at sunset, book a slot between October and February at 4 p.m. and from March to September at 5 p.m.
Do I need a tour for the desert?
The Inland Sea can only be reached with a 4x4 over desert ground. Experienced local drivers matter for route planning. The operator listed above uses licensed English-speaking drivers and air-conditioned 4x4 vehicles.
Are museum tickets cheaper with a pass?
The One Pass costs QAR 70 (about $19) and runs for 5 days. Single entries are QAR 25 at the National Museum and QAR 50 at the Museum of Islamic Art and the Sports Museum. With two or three museums, the pass can pay off, but Mathaf access is unclear.
Can children join the tours?
Child prices are not listed for these offers, so ask before you book. The desert trip excludes children under 6. The dhow cruise needs guests who can board on their own.
Should I book tours in advance?
Published offers do not show free places for your date. Check availability for your dates before you plan around a tour.
